This course positions students to prevent incidents before they start. Through practical drills on respectful communication, mindful awareness and flexible de‑escalation strategies, students learn to read rising tension early and steer conversations back to calm. That translates into smoother day‑to‑day interactions with tenants, staff and visitors and cuts down on time‑consuming incident reports.
When escalation is unavoidable, students leave with confidence in the safe, lawful use of pepper spray and other chemical agents. The curriculum breaks down California Tear Gas Act requirements, objectively‑reasonable force , and precise deployment techniques so students can act decisively within policy, minimize bystander exposure, and document events clearly, which are key factors in the reduction organizational liability.
Integrated modules on first‑aid, storage, inspection, and proper disposal are combined with strategies to promote a culture of safety and accountability. Students finish the course as team members who safeguard people and property with minimal disruption and support client trust.

Course Fee: $50.00
- This course is required to allow Security Officers to possess and carry pepper spray for self-protection while on duty.
- A certificate of training is issued upon successful completion of this course. You MUST carry that certificate on you while on duty carrying a chemical agent.
- The training certificate does not expire and only valid in California.
- The student must not have been convicted of any Felony, or Misdemeanor crimes of violence. Even if they have a valid guard card.
