This course will not allow the student to carry a concealed firearm. There is no temporary firearm permit. WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BRING WITH YOU TO CLASS

To be eligible for a BSIS Firearms Permit, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of the United States or have permanent legal alien status.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Not be banned from owning or possessing any firearm pursuant to State or Federal Law.
- Be a licensed Private Investigator, Qualified Manager of a Private Investigator, Private Patrol Operator, Qualified Manager of a Private Patrol Operator, Alarm Company Operator, Qualified Manager of an Alarm Company Operator or be a registered Security Guard or Alarm Agent with BSIS.
- Complete a criminal history background check through the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the California Department of Justice (DOJ).
- Complete and submit the Firearms Permit Initial Application to BSIS.
- Complete the required training courses, including passing all required examinations and qualifications.
- Pay the initial application fee of $100.00 to BSIS.
- complete an assessment, if applicable (BPC Section 7583.47).

Course Fees
- Course: $160.00 - Payble on day 1 of the course (includes tuition, forms, rental of ONE firearm of the caliber of your choice we have available, as well as targets, range safety equipment rental, and range fees) *AMMO IS NOT INCLUDED, YOU MUST PROVIDE THIS ON DAY 2 OF TRAINING*
- DUE TO CURRENT LAW REGARDING AMMUNITION, BE SURE TO PURCHASE YOUR AMMUNITION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. WE DO NOT SELL AMMUNITION. AMMUNITION MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE THE DAY OF THE RANGE.
- You will need a minimum of 100 rounds for each caliber you plan to qualify. At least 150 rounds is recommended.
- Due to potential liability reasons, you must use factory new, brass cased ammo. NO RELOADS, STEEL, OR ALUMINUM CASED AMMO.
- Add $20.00 for each additional firearm rental.
- Calibers available for rental are: 9mm, .40, .38, .357.

- Live Scan fees $114.00 approximately (Payable to the Live Scan provider when getting finger prints done. Covers DOJ background check fee of $70.00, FBI background check fee of $17.00, and Live Scan service fee.)
- BSIS licensing fee $100.00, payable when you submit your permit application to BSIS.
- Cost for required firearm applicant assessment fee $60.00, payable when you take the assessment.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BRING WITH YOU TO CLASS
- FIREARM, BELT, HOLSTER, MAGAZINE/SPEED LOADER POUCH, AT LEAST 3 MAGAZINES OR 2 SPEED LOADERS (ONLY IF YOU ARE USING YOUR OWN FIREARM.)
- AMMO (ONLY ON DAY 2. MINIMUM 100 ROUNDS PER CALIBER, 150 ROUNDS IS RECOMMENDED. ALL AMMO MUST BE FACTORY NEW, BRASS CASED. NO RELOADED AMMO.)
- GOVERNMENT ISSUED PHOTO ID OR DRIVER LICENSE.
- GUARD CARD OR PROOF THAT YOU HAVE RECENTLY COMPLETED MODULE 1 TRAINING.
- STUDENTS MUST PROVIDE PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP OR LEGAL RESIDENCY PRIOR TO COURSE PARTICIPATION. THESE DOCUMENTS ARE ACCEPTABLE EVIDENCE OF UNITED STATES CITIZENSHIP OR PERMANENT RESIDENCE (JUST ONE OF THE FOLLOWING):
- Alien Registration Receipt Card [green card] (INS Form I-151 or AR-3a; issued by INS prior to June 1978). This card must contain a photograph of the bearer.
- Permanent Resident Card [green card] (INS Form I-551, a revised edition of INS Form I-151). This card must contain a photograph of the bearer.
- Certificate of Naturalization (INS Form N-550 or N-570). This certificate must contain a photograph of the bearer with a dry seal over the photograph.
- United States Citizen Identification Card (INS Form I-197). Must contain photo & physical description.
- Identification Card for use of Resident Citizen in the United States (INS Form I-179).
- Certificate of United States Citizenship (INS Form N-560 or N-561).
- Certificate of Birth abroad issued by the Department of State (Form FS-545 or form DS-1350).
- Native American Tribal documents.
- United States Military ID, Geneva Convention Identification card for Active Military Person (unexpired).
- Report of Separation [military discharge] (Form DD-214).
- Birth Certificate showing birth in the United States, American Samoa, District of Columbia, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, Swains Island, or United States Virgin Islands.
- United States Passport Book (unexpired) or United States Passport Card (unexpired).
- Permit to Re-enter the United States (INS Form I-327).
- Refugee or parolee documents only if accompanied by INS Form I-151, AR-3a, or I-551.
